Mediation

Mediation is an informal, confidential process that is less expensive, less time consuming, and less stressful than going to court.  Frank is a Registered Roster Mediator (RRM) certified with Mediate BC in the areas of family and civil mediation matters in addition to being a member in good standing with the Alternative Dispute Resolution Institute of British Columbia (ADRBC) as a Qualified Mediator (Q.Med), and the Alternative Dispute Resolution of Canada (ADRIC), affiliated through ADRBC.

Frank is an Indigenous Mediator with ancestral ties to the communities of Metlakatla (Tsimshian) and New Aiyansh (Nisga’a). He can assist with talking to the family to decide how to meet their cultural needs, invite Elders to participate, and assist with bringing the mediation session to a culturally sensitive location.

In addition to being a Registered Roster Mediator (RRM), Frank is also a Registered Clinical Counsellor (RCC) with the B.C. Association of Clinical Counsellors (BCACC) (Member ID: 18289) and as a Canadian Certified Counsellor (CCC) with the Canadian Counselling and Psychotherapy Association (CCPA) (Member ID: 10006800), and a member in good standing with the Canadian Psychological Association (CPA) (Member ID: 117791). As such, he can conduct investigations and provide information to the Court for Section 211 of the Family Law Act in the form of a private assessment report on a fee-for-service basis via written contract or agreement with the requesting party or parties.

Family Mediation

When conflicts threaten to tear families apart, a few sessions with an impartial mediator can be what is needed to help resolve the dispute. Frank has knowledge and skills in formal and informal mediation within the family context, referred to as family mediation. He can assist with resolving a variety of family-related matters including separation and divorce, parenting issues, general family issues, asset and debt division, family business, and elder care.  For couples with children, mediators can help to develop an effective co-parenting plan. Mediators can also help with the discussions about the division of family assets and debts.

Frank has a Family Mediation Certificate through the Justice Institute of British Columbia (JIBC).  Frank has in-depth knowledge and skill in formal and informal mediation within the family context and he has a Certificate in Conflict Resolution Specializing in Mediation / Third Party Intervention.
